Tour the Village of Penn Yan, NY
Penn Yan, NY holds a special place in my heart, as my family and I have been visiting this town in the Finger Lakes region over the last 19 years. Fried chicken and ice cream have been a staple over the summer at Seneca Farms as well as fresh produce and homemade pies at Indian Pines Market. But in the recent years, Penn Yan has seen a revitalization of the downtown area, with new restaurants, shops, and a coffee house, and we are here for it!
Let's take a tour of downtown Penn Yan and share with you some of my favorite places.

Union Block Italian Restaurant
/ Hands down my favorite Italian restaurant. I go back for the Bianca pizza.
Located at the head of Keuka Lake on the historic village square, Union Block Italian Bistro serves up homestyle Italian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. You’ll find plenty of Mediterranean classics on our menu like lasagna and shrimp scampi, along with original creations like our lobster macaroni and cheese. We also serve local craft beers, wines, and specialty cocktails. Join us upstairs in our dining room or head down to The Grotto, our cozy bar area with a laid-back, speakeasy vibe -- either way, we’ll make you feel right at home.

/ Dan and Rachel opened shop a few years ago on Main Street and feature Dan's furniture made from wine barrels as well as local Finger Lake artists. I frequent their shop for the homemade candles poured in ceramic vessels, wool pillows, and leather coasters.
Staving Artist Woodwork showcases the original work of Dan Mitchell, a Finger Lakes native whose bona fides include deep experience in the wine industry along with a passion for woodwork. Dan’s designs are a deft combination of rustic and modern, using the gentle curves of barrel staves to create new takes on traditional forms. The wood, often stained a warm red by the wine, comes from local wineries. And while we offer a selection of stock items in our shops, we are especially keen to work with clients on custom projects, from dining tables and chandeliers to personalized signs and plaques. We cherish the collaborative process, and appreciate the feedback we get from delighted customers.

/ Also a new addition to Main Street, I love the design and lighting of this coffee house, but I come back for the best cappuccino I've ever had.
AMITY: ˈamədē/ noun – friendship; harmony; warmth & goodwill
We operate as a multi-roaster shop with an anchor roaster partnership with Gimme Coffee, out of Ithaca, NY. We feature a second roaster as a guest in our shop and will typically rotate this roaster every 2-3 months. We love the variety and culture this brings to our menu, with fresh coffees and connections coming in with each new roaster.

/ Up the road from Main Street is Lavender Crest Farms. Open on summer weekends, Lavender Crest Farms is my favorite new find! Walk through the lavender garden for that quintessential summer experience and then check out the shop that features all things lavender right from the farm.
In unison with farm animals, lavender, other plants and the nature around us, Lavender Crest brings hope, joy, and unlimited possibilities through the healing powers of nature. Lavender Crest envisions being the premier model for connecting people with nature as a catalyst for wellness. Everyone will have the opportunity to discover the healing power of animals, plants, and wildlife.

/ Although I have yet to stay at Laurentide, this quaint B&B is on my bucket list.
Nestled between Seneca and Keuka Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, The Laurentide Inn is the transformation of a 200 year old private residence and carriage house barn into a 5 guest suite Inn and event space that delivers a memorable stay and one of a kind Finger Lakes experience in a stylishly appointed historic residence and property. Minutes from both the Seneca and Keuka Lake Wine and Brewery trails, The Laurentide is ideally located on Historic Main Street in the Village of Penn Yan within walking distance to all restaurants, shops, galleries and a short drive to Finger Lakes area attractions.
